Here you find valuable information on picking our courses for your study:

In the specialization area in the 5th + 6th semester, 15 ECTS from at least 2 specialization areas must be taken. For your specialization on Programming Systems we regularly offer the following courses:
    • Winter term:
      • Grundlagen des Übersetzerbaus (2+2 SWS, 7.5 ECTS, Winter term, lectures in German)
    • Summer term:
      • Testen von Softwaresystemen (Sommersemester, 4 SWS, 5 ECTS, lectures in German)[2]
      • Analyse und Design objektorientierter Softwaresysteme mit der Unified Modeling Language (UML) (Sommersemester, 4 SWS, 5 ECTS, lectures in German)[2]

We also offer seminars and practical courses, the topics of which may vary from semester to semester.

Your choice in the Bachelor’s program does not limit you in the Master’s program. Regardless of whether or not you have already taken Programming System modules in the bachelor’s program, enough options remain in the master’s program.

In the Master’s program, you must take a total of 60 ECTS from at least 3 thematic pillars of computer science. The specialization on Programming Systems belongs to the pillar of the software-oriented specializations. As a rule, you have to bring in at least 10 and at most 30 ECTS per specialization subject that you select.

For your specialization on Programming Systems we regularly offer the following courses:

    • Grundlagen des Übersetzerbaus (2+2 SWS, 7.5 ECTS, WS)[1]
    • Optimierungen in Übersetzern (2+2 SWS, 7.5 ECTS, Summer term, lectures in German)
    • Ausgewählte Kapitel aus dem Übersetzerbau (2+2 SWS, 7.5 ECTS, Winter term, lectures in German)

In addition, there is a range of other modules that they can bring to your specialization on Programming Systems:

    • Analyse und Design objektorientierter Softwaresysteme mit der Unified Modeling Language (UML) (2+2 SWS, 5 ECTS, SS)[1,3]
    • Testen von Softwaresystemen (4 SWS, 5 ECTS, Summer term)[1,3]

We also offer seminars and practical courses, the topics of which may vary from semester to semester.

The specialization on Software Engineering (Type B – Practical Software Engineering) is described here.

We offer a number of courses that can be chosen as “Technical Elective in Computer Science” (according to §41(2)-4) in the Bachelor’s program. Likewise, we offer courses for the Master’s program as “Elective Computer Science”. These courses are declared accordingly in Campo.

    Bachelor’s Degree Program:

The following courses can be taken as electives in the Bachelor’s degree program. The internship is credited with 2.5 ECTS in the Bachelor’s degree program.

    • Praktische Softwaretechnik (4 SWS, 5 ECTS, Winter term)
    • Testen von Softwaresystemen (4 SWS, 5 ECTS, Summer term, lectures in German)
